"A copywriter should have an understanding of people, an insight into them, a sympathy toward them." -George Gribbin

My copy works for two unique reasons:

  1. I'm passionately curious about human nature and identity and
  2. I have a background teaching and studying rhetoric: the art of persuasive communications.

I began my career as a writer in 2010 writing articles for local publications. Since then, I've found my niche as a copywriter for startups and small business owners.

In 2015, I had the privilege of spending time at renowned tech accelerator 500 Startups in San Francisco. Not only did I work alongside an amazing company while I was there, I got an insider's look at the drive, ingenuity, and grit investors and venture capitalists require of startup founders.

In addition to copywriting for startups, clients have entrusted me to help them create more effective content, social media, editorial, and brand messaging strategies.

About Melissa

I live in Indiana with my daughter and two dogs.

In my past lives, I've been a high school teacher, a university writing instructor, a children's librarian, a touring musician, and a professional portrait and wedding photographer—no, I'm not indecisive. Just curious, ambitious, and tactfully ruthless.

I'm a textbook INFP with a passion for the arts and a mad drive to pursue life on my terms. (Yet another reason why I connect so fiercely with founders and love copywriting for startups.)

Let's make something great together.
